Photoshop Linked File Missing Error: हा Error का येतो आणि कसा सोडवायचा?

🔰 Intro
Photoshop file open करताच असा alert येतो 😓
“Linked File Missing”
Image दिसत नाही,
question mark दिसतो,
आणि file incomplete वाटायला लागते.
हा problem खास करून:
Album design
Large banner / flex
Multi-file projects
यामध्ये खूप वेळा दिसतो.

🔗 Linked File म्हणजे काय?
Photoshop मध्ये image दोन प्रकारे add करता येते:
1️⃣ Embedded Image
– Image PSD च्या आत save होते
2️⃣ Linked Image
– Image external folder मध्ये असते
– PSD फक्त त्याचा reference ठेवते
👉 Linked file चा फायदा:
PSD size कमी
Performance थोडी better
पण:
👉 File हलवली / delete झाली तर problem सुरू होतो.
❌ Linked File Missing Error का येतो?
1️⃣ Image ची location बदलली जाते
Image दुसऱ्या folder मध्ये move केली
Pendrive / external HDD काढला
👉 Photoshop ला file सापडत नाही.
2️⃣ Folder rename केल्यावर
Project folder rename केला
Sub-folder बदलला
👉 Link तुटतो.
3️⃣ System बदलला / File दुसऱ्या PC वर उघडली
PSD दुसऱ्या computer ला दिली
पण linked images copy केल्या नाहीत
👉 Error दिसतो.
4️⃣ Drive letter change
External drive (D: → E:)
SSD / HDD reconnect
👉 Photoshop path mismatch होतो.
🧠 Real-life Example
Designer ने:
Album design बनवलं
Images “Photos” folder मध्ये linked ठेवल्या
Folder pendrive मध्ये होता
Pendrive काढली 😐
PSD open केली → Linked File Missing
✅ Solution 1: Missing file manually relink करा
Error message मध्ये “Locate” वर click करा
Original image जिथे आहे तिथे जा
Image select करा
Relink करा
👉 Image परत दिसायला लागते.
✅ Solution 2: Links panel वापरा (Best way)
Window → Links panel open करा
Missing files लाल चिन्हाने दिसतील
Right click → Relink
Correct file select करा
✅ Solution 3: Future problem टाळण्यासाठी (Important)
✔ Project folder structure fixed ठेवा
PSD + Images + Fonts एकाच main folder मध्ये ठेवा
Folder rename / move टाळा
✔ Final stage ला Embed images करा
Links panel → Select All → Embed
👉 PSD self-contained होते
👉 Linked error येत नाही.
✔ File share करताना complete folder द्या
फक्त PSD नको
Images + fonts सहित folder द्या
⚠️ Common Designer Mistake
Linked images वापरल्या
पण project complete झाल्यावर embed नाही केल्या
Result:
Client PC वर file open → error
Panic situation 😓
🎯 Simple Rule (Designer Rule)
Working stage → Linked images OK
Final / delivery stage → Embed images compulsory

तो file handling mistake आहे.
एकदा:
Folder discipline ठेवलं
Final stage ला images embed केल्या
की हा problem पुन्हा येत नाही.
